Husqvarna India Launch Details Revealed
Bajaj Auto and KTM has decided to acquire the Husqvarna brand and it will be launched i India in 2018.
Bajaj Auto and KTM are celebrating their tenth anniversary of partnership in India. Now, both the manufacturers have decided to acquire Husqvarna.
Husqvarna is the world's second oldest brand started in 1903. In 2013, KTM had acquired the Husqvarna brand from BMW.
Under KTM, the brand grew globally, and the sales volume reached an all-time high with over 30,000 units retailed in 2016. Now, Bajaj and KTM have decided to take the brand to a new level in the global market.
Husqvarna models such as Vitpilen 401, Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 701 will be manufactured at the Mattighofen plant in Austria. The motorcycles will be launched in 2018.
The global production of the Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 will be shifted to Bajaj Auto's Chakan facility in 2018. Bajaj Auto plans to double the production of KTM and Husqvarna in India to 2 lakh units in the coming years.
The Indian two-wheeler maker also aims to sell the Husqvarna motorcycles in a similar level as KTM in India and Indonesia.

Bajaj Auto has gone a step further to increase its global reach by acquiring Husqvarna in partnership with KTM. Bajaj will also manufacture the Husqvarna motorcycles in the country, which is in line with the Make in India campaign.
