This Motorcycle Showroom Had Sold Banned BS3 Motorcycles — Ex-Serviceman Opens Fire
A Honda two-wheeler dealership in Kengeri, near Bangalore has sold 48 banned BS3 vehicles after April 1.
In what looks like a scene from one of Clint Eastwood's movies, an ex-serviceman walked up to a motorcycle dealer in Kengeri, on the outskirts of Bangalore, Karnataka, pulled out a gun and opened fire.
The ex-serviceman, a customer, decided to open fire after a heated argument with a salesperson after the showroom delayed to deliver a motorcycle he had booked.
The ex-serviceman was soon pinned down and subdued by an unarmed police head constable, who even managed to snatch away the gun. The incident left customers and other staff in a state of panic.
Once police intervened and started the investigation, things took a shocking turn — that particular two-wheeler showroom had sold 48 BS3 vehicles that are banned since April 1. The Supreme Court had banned sales of BS3 two-wheelers.
The dealership, named Satellite Motors, a Honda outlet, sold 48 BS3 two-wheelers to unsuspecting customers with a temporary registration, thus forcing customers to frequent the dealership seeking permanent registration certificates.
A senior police official has clarified that a regional transport officer has confirmed that the two-wheelers mentioned above have not been registered. The police officer said, "We have asked the purchasers to file a complaint against Satellite Motors."
