Honda Patents CBR250RR In India — All You Need To Know About The Bike
Honda has said that it is not feasible to launch the CBR250RR in India; however, the recent patent filed in India speculates that it could be launched in the future.
Honda was not keen in launching the CBR250RR in India as it felt that it will require massive investment. Also, even if launched, the CBR250RR will command a price tag of Rs 4-5 lakh, which is not ideal for a 250cc bike in the country.
Despite Honda not confirming the launch of the CBR250RR in India, the Japanese company has gone ahead and patented the motorcycle in India as confirmed by Rushlane. A document from the patent office reveals the same.
If launched in India, the Honda CBR250RR will compete with the likes of Yamaha R3, KTM RC390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300.
These bikes retail between Rs 3-3.5 lakh in India and the CBR250RR might not be able to compete with its claimed price tag.
As for the motorcycle itself, the CBR250RR receives an upside down front suspension, petal disc brakes, and dual channel ABS.
The motorcycle also gets features such as LED headlamps and taillamp, along with fully digital instrument panel and ride-by-wire technology.
As for the powertrain, the Honda CBR250RR is powered by a 250cc liquid cooled twin cylinder mill. The unit produces 38bhp and 23.3Nm of torque, which makes it the most powerful 250cc motorcycle.
Currently, the Honda CBR250RR is available in Indonesia, where it is being manufactured, retails from Rs 3.2 lakh to Rs 3.6 lakh for the top variant with ABS.
