Honda CB Shine Creates New Record
The Honda CB Shine has achieved another milestone by crossing 1 lakh unit sales in the month of April 2017.
After dominating the automatic scooter segment, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is expanding its leadership in the 125cc motorcycle segment.
The 125cc motorcycle segment is India's second largest segment by sales volumes. The No. 1 selling 125cc motorcycle in the country, the CB Shine has achieved another milestone.
The Honda CB Shine is the only 125cc motorcycle to reach the milestone of 1 lakh unit sales in a single month. The sales of CB Shine grew by 51 percent and recorded a sales figure of 1,00,824 units in April 2017.
The key factors for the growth are demand for HET BS-IV Honda engine with AHO upgrades and Low Rolling Resistance tyre in CB Shine SP. The sales of CB Shine grew five times faster than the 125cc motorcycle segment.
With the dominance in the 125cc motorcycle segment, Honda has further stretched its segment leadership. The CB Shine has gained 15 percent market share on year on year basis.
Launched in 2006, the CB Shine is the biggest brand within Honda's motorcycle portfolio and is the first choice of 55 lakh customers. The record sales of CB Shine has propelled Honda 2Wheelers India to the second position in India.
Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, HMSI, Yadvinder Singh Guleria said, "With a legacy of more than one decade, CB Shine is the most important motorcycle brand in our line-up."
He added, "Driven by continuous innovation, CB Shine brand alone contributes 55% to Honda's motorcycle sales. Such is the shine of the brand with Honda's high quality and reliability that today every second 125cc motorcycle customer in India is buying a CB Shine."
