Honda Africa Twin Trial Assembly Begins In India — Launching Next Month?
Honda 2Wheelers India stated, “Honda starts trial assembly of its biggest 1,000cc advanced Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) technology Africa Twin in India.”
All you adventure motorcycle enthusiasts have a reason to be excited. Honda 2Wheelers India has an official announced for the country.
Through an official statement, the Japanese company has confirmed the Africa Twin's trial assembly in India. Honda 2Wheelers India stated, "Honda starts trial assembly of its biggest 1,000cc advanced Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) technology Africa Twin in India."
The introduction of the Honda Africa Twin to India has been expected for a while now. With the current official announcement, this confirms the adventure motorcycle's launch in India is imminent.
Honda had showcased the Africa Twin at the 2016 Auto Expo held in Delhi, and since then it has been one of the most anticipated launches in the adventure motorcycle segment.
Honda is expected to assemble the Africa Twin at its Manesar plant in Haryana. The bike will come through the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kit route to keep the prices competitive.
Talking about the powerplant of the Africa Twin, a 998cc liquid-cooled Unicam 8-valve parallel twin engine will power the adventure motorcycle.
The unit is rated to produce 93bhp and 98Nm of torque and comes mated to either a 6-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) or a manual gearbox for the India-spec model.
The Africa Twin is expected to launch in India by July 2017. We expect Honda to price the Africa Twin in the price range of Rs 13 lakh to Rs 15 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi).
