Hero MotoCorp had a successful Dakar Rally 2017, and is no mood to stop its motorsports presence, as the Indian manufacturer has plans to set foot in Moto3.
Hero MotoCorp's Chairman, Managing Director, and CEO Pawan Munjal said at a press conference in Buenos Aires that the company has plans to expand its motorsport calendar and Hero MotoSports has plans to enter Moto3.
Also, Munjal said that the company is already in talks and is making necessary preparations to take part in Moto3 in the near future.
Hero MotoCorp will be the second team to enter Moto3 after Mahindra, who has seen success in the sport. Moto3 is the entry segment racing to premium motorcycle track racing championship.
Moto3 has strict regulations like any other form of motorsports and the minimum total weight of the bike, including the rider should be 148kg. Powering the motorcycles will be a single-cylinder four-stroke engine.
