Hero MotoCorp Conferred With 'Indian MNC Of The Year' Award
All India Management Association awarded Pawan Munjal-led Hero MotoCorp as the ‘Indian MNC of the Year’.
The Hero MotoCorp, one of the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturers, has been conferred with the "Indian MNC of the year" award for the rapid global enlargement of the brand "Hero".
Mr Pawan Munjal, Chairman, MD & CEO, Hero MotoCorp Ltd, was today felicitated by the All India Management Association (AIMA) with the prestigious award. As per Munjal, Hero has grown to 35 countries which are spread across Asia, Africa and Central and South America since its commencement in 2011.
The award comes as Hero MotoCorp is all set to enter the potentially profitable markets of Brazil, Latin America's largest two-wheeler market with annual sales in the surplus of two million units, and Mexico, which holds a market size of more than half a million units per year.
Receiving the award, Mr Munjal said: "Brand Hero has expanded to 35 countries spread across Asia, Africa and Central and South America in a very short span of time since charting its solo journey in 2011."
He further said, "We added Argentina, the second largest two-wheeler market in Latin America, to our international footprint in January this year, where we also unveiled the new Glamour motorcycle in our first global product launch."
Hero MotoCorp received the award at a time when the company sold more than 6.6 million two-wheelers in FY17.
