Hero Hunk And Xtreme Removed From Indian Website
Hero Hunk and Xtreme have been removed from Indian website indication new launches from the country's largest two-wheeler manufacturer.
Hero MotoCorp, India's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, has removed Hunk and Xtreme motorcycles from its Indian website.
The company is likely to replace the Hunk and Xtreme with newer models with launches expected between 2017 and 2018. The change product line-up of Hero MotoCorp comes in the backdrop of the company dropping HF Dawn and Splendor Pro Classic along with Splendor iSmart.
With the removal of the Hunk and Xtreme motorcycle by Hero from its Indian website, the company has narrowed down its portfolio in the 150cc segment. Recently, Hero MotoCorp launched Achiever and the Xtreme Sport emphasising its offering in the 150cc segment.
The Hero Achiever 150 is considered as the first motorcycle in its segment in India with i3s technology. The technology automatically switches off the engine when idle for more than 5 seconds and switches it on as soon as you press the clutch.
Powering the Hero Achiever is a 149.1cc single cylinder engine which produces 13.4bhp and 12.8Nm of torque.
As for the Hero Xtreme Sports motorcycle, the bike is positioned as a sporty offering to the Indian market. The Xtreme Sports is powered by the similar 149.1cc single cylinder engine; however, it churns out 15.6bhp and 13.5Nm of torque.
Hero MotoCorp is reported to have confirmed to launch six new two-wheelers in FY 2017-18. Also, the company is investing close to Rs 2,500 crore for developing new motorcycles.
The investments will focus on adding new manufacturing techniques and enhancing the existing and upcoming plants for faster productions that will translate to increased market earnings.
Among the upcoming Hero motorcycles, the Xtreme 200S could be the first new premium product in the works. Also, plans are to introduce different scooters in the 125cc and 150 cc segments.
