American motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson has revealed its new street model, the 2017 Street Rod 750. The new motorcycle shares most of the underpinnings from the currently sold Street 750.
However, the new Street Rod 750 gets an all-new design inspired from the Harley-Davidson XR1200X. The new motorcycle gets redesigned fairing, split seat design and new tail section.
The Street Rod 750 also features drag style handlebars with bar end mirrors, 3.5-inch electronic instrument cluster and LED tail light and turn indicators.
Upfront, the new Street Rod 750 features inverted 43mm forks and traditional suspension setup at the rear. Harley-Davidson states that the suspension travel has been increased and tuned for sporty ride and increased lean angle.
The Street Rod 750 draws power from a 749cc High Output Revolution X 750 V-twin engine pumping out 68.4bhp and 62Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with no tweaks compared to the Street 750.
The new motorcycle gets dual disc brake, and ABS will be offered as standard equipment. The Street Rod 750 is equipped with the 17-inch wheel up front and an upgrade from 15-inch to 17-inch wheel at the rear.
The kerb weight of the Street Rod 750 stands at 229kg, just 6kg heavier compared to the Street 750. Harley-Davidson India is expected to launch the new motorcycle with a price hike of Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000 over its regular sibling, the Street 750.
The new Street Rod 750 will be offered in three colour options - Vivid Black, Charcoal Denim and Olive Gold. As per reports, Harley Davidson India will commence the bookings for its new street motorcycle from March 20, 2017.
