2017 BMW S1000R Revealed — Now More Powerful Than Ever
BMW S1000R engine output has increased by 5bhp, receives revised electronics package, and it conforms to Euro IV norms.
BMW Motorrad has launched the 2017 edition of its popular S1000R super-naked sportbike with a host of changes.
The changes include a new, lighter chassis, revised electronics which include lean-angle-sensitive ABS and traction control, along with a bi-directional quick shifter which allows clutchless downshifts.
Additionally, the new BMW S1000R receives a new exhaust system with a titanium Akrapovic can to help clear the Euro4 noise and emissions regulations.
BMW S1000R engine output has increased by 5bhp from 157bhp to 162bhp and a 2kg reduction in weight from 207kg to 205kg. BMW have also made efforts to decrease vibration to the bars and offer their lightweight cast alloy HP wheels as an alternative, too.
The instrumentation cluster has also been refreshed to have greater readability. Also, the fairing around the headlamp cluster is a lot sleeker to give it an even more 'naked street-fighter' view.
The BMW S1000R will be offered with new colour schemes such as Racing Red/Blackstorm, Catalano Grey and a BMW Motorsport dual-tone option as well.
BMW Motorrad is all set to enter India with the launch of the G 310R, below is an array of photos of the naked bike, click to view.
