BMW Motorrad Reveals The HP4 Superbike

BMW Motorrad has revealed the HP4 Superbike. The motorcycle was showcased at the 2016 EICMA as a new halo model with carbon fibre frame and wheels.
Only 750 examples of the BMW HP4 Superbike will be produced worldwide. The motorcycle is described as the purebred racing bike. The motorcycle weighs less than a factory racing WSBK motorcycle.
BMW Motorrad has managed to keep the weight of the superbike in check with its new design approach and use of carbon fibre. Titanium is used in the tank and exhaust, which plays a vital role in the performance and weight reduction.
The motorcycle features Ohlins upside down forks up front and mono shock suspension setup at the rear. The HP4 Superbike gets Brembo GP4 PR brake callipers which are used in WSBK and MotoGP.
The HP4 Superbike draws power from the 999cc motor of the S 1000 RR. But it is tweaked to meet the WSBK specifications. The engine produces 215bhp of power. Power is delivered via a 6-speed close-ratio gearbox.
The electronic aids on the HP4 Superbike are oriented towards track use. The motorcycle features Dynamic Traction Control, Wheelie Control, Engine Brake Retarder, Launch Control and Pit Lane Speed Limiter.
The instrument cluster on the HP4 displays extensive information. With the mechanical data and other vital information on the go. The HP4 Superbike will rival the likes of Ducati 1299 Superleggera and new KTM RC16 Replica.
