BMW G 310 R India Launch Details Revealed
BMW Motorrad has revealed the launch details of its entry-level motorcycle, the G 310 R in India.
The BMW G 310 R is one of the much-awaited motorcycle in the Indian market. Previously, it was reported that the entry-level motorcycle from BMW Motorrad would hit the Indian shores in 2017. But later, the launch was delayed.
Now, Overdrive reports that the G 310 R will be launched in India in 2018. But the exact launch date is not yet confirmed as the automaker is still discussing the India launch.
Reports also suggested that BMW Motorrad will launch the G 310 GS in India. But replying to a user's query, BMW Motorrad stated that there are no plans to launch the touring avatar of the G 310 R in India.
BMW Motorrad started its India operations with the premium motorcycles ranging from the R 1200 R to the K 1600 GTL. Currently, the automaker has four dealerships in the country and plans to expand it to seven by 2018.
The BMW G 310 R draws power from a 313cc engine producing 33.5bhp and 28Nm of torque. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. TVS will also use the same engine in their upcoming Apache RR 310S, but slightly tweaked to meet the Indian conditions.
The G 310 R is being manufactured at TVS' Hosur plant in India. Currently, the naked motorcycle is exported to several European markets.
DriveSpark Thinks!
The G 310 R will be the most affordable motorcycle from BMW Motorrad. When launched in India, the naked street fighter will mainly compete with the likes of KTM Duke 390 and Benelli TNT 300.
