New BMW GS Adventure Model Spied — The New BMW F 900 GS?
BMW Motorrad has been spied testing a new GS adventure motorcycle alongside the F 800 GS. Here’s what we can expect.
The BMW GS range of motorcycles have managed to stay on top of the food chain when it comes to adventure models, and Morebikes.co.uk have managed to snap shots of a new GS model.
The new GS model spotted is under speculation as to what model it can be. Some say that it can be the F 850 GS, while others think it could be the new F 900 GS. Whatever the model, the new adventure motorcycle will be a 2018 model and receives significant updates compared to the F 800 GS.
To start with, the motorcycle looks sleeker. Another feature an enthusiast would notice is that the exhaust is now on the right, in comparison to the F 800 GS. Also, the final drive is on the left side of the motorcycle, while it was on the right side in the previous model.
Other features include spoked wheels, probably a lighter motorcycle, on the whole, ride-by-wire technology, rider modes, a traditional fuel tank (the 800 had the tank under the seat), LED headlight, and cruise control.
The engine too looks sleeker compared to the GS 800 and is expected to produce more than 85bhp. Once launched, the new BMW GS adventure motorcycle will compete with the Honda Africa Twin and the Triumph Tiger 800.
