Benelli Tornado 302R India Launch On 25 July — Here’s What You Need To Know
Benelli has confirmed the Tornado 302R India launch date for 25 July after a long wait. Here’s more.
The much-awaited Benelli Tornado 302R fully faired sportbike will be launched in India on July 25. The motorcycle was first showcased during the 2016 Auto Expo, and after a lengthy wait, the launch date has been confirmed. Bookings for the Tornado 302R, however, commenced a while back.
Based on the TNT 300, the Benelli Tornado 302R will sport the same engine from its naked sibling, a 300cc, liquid-cooled inline twin-cylinder engine capable of producing 35bhp and 27Nm of torque. The engine will be paired to a standard 6-speed gearbox.
Regarding equipment, the Tornado 302R will sport an upside down front fork while a mono-shock takes care of the rear comfort. Dual disc brakes up front take care of stopping power, along with a single disc brake at the rear.
The fully faired motorcycle is expected to be slightly heavier or weigh the same as the TNT 300 (196kg), and boasts a ground clearance of 180mm. The 14-litre fuel tank ensures there will be minimal frequencies between fill ups.
When launched on 25 July, the Benelli Tornado 302R is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 3.2 to Rs 3.5 lakh ex-showroom. The Benelli Tornado 302R will compete against the Kawasaki Ninja 300, Yamaha R3, and the segment leader, KTM RC390.

The sub-500cc performance sportbike segment has seen a lot of competitors in the recent past, and KTM still holds the crown. The Benelli might not compete head-on regarding performance, but will be a great alternate in the particular category.
