Benelli Tornado 302R Full Faired 300cc India Launch Details Revealed
Benelli BN 302R will be launched in May 2017 and will be priced close to Rs 3.5 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi).
DSK Benelli will launch the BN 302R, the full faired, parallel-twin 300cc motorcycle sometime in May 2017.
As per CarandBike, reports and clearances from the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) have been taken, and now it looks like DSK Benelli will finally launch the bike in the coming months.
The Benelli BN 302R is a full-faired version of the Benelli TNT 300 though gets a new chassis which is lighter than the one on the naked street TNT 300.
The Benelli BN 302R will differentiate itself with a new front end; the bike features fairing and a new split headlamp. The rear profile of the BN 302R is quite similar to the naked street TNT 300.
The Benelli TNT 300 with a kerb weight of 196 kg is not light for a 300cc bike. However, the BN 302R is expected to drop some weight because of the lighter new chassis, which is expected to enhance handling as well.
As for the powertrain of the Benelli BN 302R, a 300cc liquid-cooled, parallel twin engine similar to the TNT 300, which makes 35bhp and 27Nm of torque will power the bike.
The motor is paired to a 6-speed gearbox, and the bike features an upside down (USD) fork at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. Benelli will offer ABS as standard on the BN 302R.
When launched, the Benelli BN 302R will rival KTM RC390, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the Yamaha YZF-R3. Pricing os expected to be in the region of Rs 3.25 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh ex-showroom.
