Bajaj Auto To Launch Avenger 400 In Mid-2017; Will Use Dominar’s Engine
Bajaj Auto has recently updated its entire Pulsar model range with BS-IV compliant engines.
Indian two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto launched its flagship model, the Dominar 400, last month. Now a report has emerged revealing that the manufacturer is planning to add a higher capacity motorcycle to its Avenger range.
According to a report from MotorOctane, the Pune-based manufacturer will make Avenger 400. The higher capacity cruiser from the Avenger family that will use the same 375cc single-cylinder engine.
The report also says that the new machine will be launched in mid-2017. The engine will be tweaked to deliver more torque for cruising on the highway. The powerplant is expected to produce 35-38bhp of power and 32-34Nm of torque.
The company has recently updated its entire Pulsar model range with BS-IV compliant engines. Bajaj is also going to re-launch the Pulsar 200NS in the country soon. The addition of the Avenger 400 will boost the sales of Avenger range as it is one of the fast selling models for the company.
We can expect Bajaj to give different body style to the higher capacity Avenger 400 over the smaller displaced models. Avenger motorcycles are known for its touring capabilities and most of the touring enthusiast prefer these motorcycles because of relaxed riding position and large footpegs.
If launched, the Avenger 400 will be priced at Rs 1.75 lakh ex-showroom, which is a bit more expensive the Dominar 400. The higher capacity motorcycle will compete against the likes of Royal Enfield Thunderbird and will be a great threat to all another motorcycle in the midsize cruiser segment.
