Yamaha MT-10 Tourer Revealed — Will It Be Able To Fight The Super Duke GT?
Yamaha will be launching the Tourer avatar of the MT-10 in the European market in March. The motorcycle all the bells and whistles of a typical touring motorcycle.
Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Yamaha will be launching the new MT-10 Tourer in the European market in March 2017.
The 2017 MT-10 Tourer is designed to fit a niche between the MT-10 naked sportbike and the Yamaha Tenere dual-purpose tourer. The motorcycle features typical touring features for covering those long stretches.
The new MT-10 tourer features hand-guards, comfortable seats and all sports screen. On the safety front, ABS will be standard and the motorcycle also gets soft cases as a standard fitment.
The 2017 Yamaha MT-10 Tourer is powered by a 998cc Crossplane engine borrowed from the R1; the motor pumps out 158bhp of power and 111Nm of torque. The motorcycle also features three riding modes, traction control and a quick shifter.
The tourer avatar of the MT-10 will also come with cruise control, slipper clutch and adjustable front and rear suspension. Upfront the motorcycle gets KYB inverted forks.
Currently, in the Indian market, Yamaha offers the MT-09 as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), and the MT-10 is not officially imported to the country. So the tourer version of the MT-10 is unlikely to hit the Indian market anytime soon.
If at all Yamaha plans to introduce the 2017 MT-10 tourer in India, then the motorcycle will compete against the likes of Ducati Multistrada, Suzuki V-Strom, Triumph Tiger and Kawasaki Versys.
