The New Suzuki GSX-S1000 Is Slicker Than Ever And Wants You To Ride Hard
The 2017 edition of the Suzuki's flagship motorcycle, the GSX-S1000 gets more power compared to the previous model and few other cosmetic updates.
The 2017 iteration of Suzuki's flagship super-naked motorcycle, the GSX-S1000 gets a power-hike, with the motorcycle now producing 150hp and 108Nm of torque. Thanks to the new crankcase ventilation holes, while a new slipper clutch aids in smoother downshifts.
The faired avatar of the GSX-S1000 also gets the changes mentioned above which use the same engine and chassis as its naked sibling. But changes to suspension settings and the addition of a wind tunnel-tested fairing turn it into a versatile sports motorcycle.
Both models also feature a three-mode traction control system, that can be turned off, Brembo monobloc calipers and ABS, a lightweight frame mated to the swingarm from the previous generation GSX-R1000, and a fully adjustable KYB suspension.
Cosmetic changes on both the motorcycles come in the form of black levers and foot controls, while the F model also gets a tinted screen.
The 2017 iteration of both the models are available in blue and black livery as well as the red and black colour scheme. The GSX-1000F is also available in the all-white paint scheme.
There's also a special edition GSX-S1000 Phantom for 2017, which gets a stealthy matt black paint scheme with carefully selected red highlights, all-black silencer, and black forks.
The 2017 GSX-S1000 will go on sale in the UK from March with a price tag of 9,699 euros (Approximately Rs 6.84 lakh), whereas the GSX-S1000 Phantom special edition will be retailed at 9,899 euros (Approximately Rs 6.98 lakh). The GSX-S1000F is priced at 10,299 euros (Approximately Rs 7.27 lakh).
