2017 Honda Africa Twin Launched In Japan; India Launch Later This Year
Honda has launched the 2017 Africa Twin in the Japanese market with few cosmetic and mechanical updates. The adventure motorcycle will hit the Indian market by mid-2017.
Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Honda's flagship adventure tourer motorcycle, the Africa Twin gets cosmetic and mechanical updates in its 2017 iteration.
The new 2017 Honda Africa Twin has been launched in the Japanese market and the new adventure tourer motorcycle will be introduced in India by mid-2017.
Coming to the updates on the new Africa Twin, the motorcycle gets a bump in power output by 2bhp, the engine is compliant with Euro 4 emission norms and a new colour scheme is offered.
The 2017 Honda Africa Twin draws power from a 998cc twin cylinder engine delivering a power output of 94bhp and 98Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Apart from the manual gearbox, Honda is also offering the 6-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) variant. The Indian market will also get the DCT variant, but the manual variant will not be sold in the country.
When launched in India, the 2017 Africa Twin is expected to carry a price tag of Rs 15 lakh to Rs 17 lakh. The adventure tourer motorcycle from Honda will rival the likes of Triumph Tiger 800 series, Suzuki V-Strom and Kawasaki Versys 1000.
