Dakar 2017: CS Santosh And Stage 6 Updates
The stage six of the 2017 Dakar Rally was canceled due to bad weather and heavy thundershowers. The rain washed out the tracks and swelled up rivers in Bolivia.
The 2017 Dakar Rally has been hit by bad weather. The stage Oruro „- La Paz was a mammoth 786km test, out of which 527km was timed section. The sixth stage was the longest timed section in this edition of the Dakar.
Bad weather and heavy thundershowers forced the Dakar organisers to cancel the sixth stage of the rally. The rain lasted for 12 hours and washed out the tracks and swelled up rivers in the mountainous region of Bolivia.
Yesterday was a rest day for the competitors and the assistant crews at La Paz bivouac. Today's stage will take the competitors back to Argentina.
Hero Motorsports Team rally rider CS Santosh endured the tricky stage conditions and showed consistent pace and he is in 70th overall after stage six. His teammate Joaquim Rodrigues is in 11th position in the overall standings.
The drivers and riders received a rapturous welcome as they entered the Bolivian capital. Thousands of Bolivians gathered across the streets to cheer the competitors as the riders and drivers made their way to the bivouac.
