The Fast Indians Of The 2017 Dakar Rally Featuring CS Santosh And Aravind KP
Dakar Rally is the toughest form of motorsport on the planet and two Indian riders are competing in the 2017 Dakar Rally.
Dakar Rally, the toughest offroad event on the planet has a reputation of putting the endurance level of the competitors to the ultimate test. And till 2015 nobody had imagined that a Indian can finish this gruelling rally.
In 2015, CS Santosh showed the world that Indians can do it too. Riding a KTM rally motorcycle he finished in an impressive 36th position in his first ever Dakar Rally, although 2016 was a disappointing one for Santosh as he had to retire due to technical issues with his motorcycle.
But in 2017, Santosh is confident for a good result. The Indian rider is in 70th overall after the completion of five stages, despite the harsh weather conditions Santosh has managed to maintain a steady pace.
Another Indian rider of the 2017 Dakar Rally is Aravind KP, he has multiple national titles under his belt and has also competed in the cross-country rallies. But unfortunately, Aravind faced the worst in his rookie season.
Aravind suffered a crash in the second stage of the rally, but the brave hearted rider decided to continue riding. Unfortunately, on stage three he suffered another crash and fractured his shoulder and was forced to retire from the rally.
