Here #Wego: Night Outs And New Year Celebrations In Bangalore

Our adventures in Cochin are still fresh in our minds but we find ourselves off on another adventure, this time on the streets of a city we know like the back of our hands. Welcome to Bangalore, the IT hub of the country, pub capital of the nation, where there is no dearth... to shopping, food joints and also the home of DriveSpark.

So, what does Bangalore have in store for New Years? We ride the night out on a TVS Wego. Here #Wego Bangalore.

The city of Bangalore as we know it today was founded in the mid-1500s when Kempe Gowda I, a vassal of the Vijaynagar Empire that ruled the area started building a mud brick fort in 1537 in what is now the centre of the city.

The remains of the fort and Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace are some the few reminders that still tell the tale of the history of a rapidly modernizing city. If Kempe Gowda I or Tipu himself could visit the city, they would have been shocked at how much the city of Bangalore has changed.

Another well-known part of 'Old Bangalore' that has reinvented itself and become an integral part of the city's modern life is Bangalore Palace, which despite its medieval looks was completed in 1944.

The Palace played host to the largest paid concert ever to take place in India when Iron Maiden performed on the grounds in 2007.

The modern day metropolis that is Bangalore is a vibrant city bustling with people who ride and drive through the roads that crisscross the city to get to work and back.

However, the jams of the city were no match for the TVS Wego, which weaved in and out of traffic with consummate ease thanks to easily accessible power from the peppy engine.

With New Year's Eve just a day away, the DriveSpark team decided to cut loose and head out into the city to check out the happening spots in the city where we would end up on the final night of 2016.

Our first port of call was Bangalore Central Mall in JP Nagar. The mall is popular with the young crowd that defines this city and the TVS Wego easily caught a few eyeballs thanks to its vibrant paint job.

The Wego's brakes also endured a proper workout as we avoided the pumped up citizens who were trying to get the best deal possible in the city's favourite shopping district, the aptly named Commercial Street.

The TVS Wego chewed up the miles and glided over the city's bumpy roads as we travelled from one mall to another in pursuit of the cure for the shopaholic in us.

The TVS Wego's Body Balance Technology which uses the heavy duty front telescopic suspension and a nitrogen charged rear mono shock smoothed out the effects of the bumps and potholes as we travelled from one shopping hotspot to another.

We finally rode down the most happening streets in the city - Brigade road - which was lit up as the city celebrated the end of a crazy year.

It would seem that the entire city had descended onto Brigade Road and the streets that diverge out from it thanks to the numerous shops, restaurants and pubs that dot each and every square foot of the surrounding buildings.

Now loaded up with all of our own shopping and with the day drawing to an end, the team decided to head off before regrouping the next night to kick off a brand new year together in style.
