TVS Working On A New 125CC Scooter — To Launch New Scooter Brand
TVS Motor Company Company is developing a new 125cc scooter which will be launched in early 2017 and a new scooter brand will be introduced with the new products.
India's leading two-wheeler manufacturer, TVS Motor Company is said to be developing an all-new 125cc scooter, which may be launched in 2017.
TVS which is known for its research and development strengths is also planning to launch a new scooter brand in India for its upcoming more powerful scooters.
According to sources, TVS is working on a new 125cc scooter which will be launched in early 2017 and the company is also readying a new brand name to be introduced with the new scooter lineup.
Although it was expected that the new scooter may be launched under the Jupiter brand name. Currently, Jupiter is an established brand in India and it is the only best-selling scooter for TVS. Hence TVS wants to have another scooter brand that will perform in the Indian market.
With the yet to be launched 125cc scooter from TVS, the company will make its debut in this segment with more powerful scooter compared to the 110cc models.
In India, the 125cc scooter segment is dominated by the Suzuki Access. It is consistently doing well in the market for a decade and also been a tough rival for the 110cc Honda Activa.
The major two-wheeler manufacturers such as Hero MotoCorp and India Yamaha Motor are absent in the 125cc scooter segment. Honda has its 125cc Activa although the model is not doing wonders for the manufacturer in India.
This move from TVS is a clear message that TVS wants to compete with the likes of Suzuki Motorcycle India and Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India in the 125cc scooter criteria.
With the entry of TVS into the 125cc scooter market, the company is expected to steadily build its new brand before its competitors take hold of the growing demand for scooters in India.
