TVS Motor Company is set to commemorate the Scooty Zest for becoming the first scooter to reach the Kardung La with a female rider. The Kardung La is 18380 feet above sea level and this achievement has TVS motors launching a limited edition Scooty Zest and will call it the Himalayan Highs Edition.
The new limited edition Scooty Zest Himalayan Highs will feature a new dual tone colour, which is like a bronze finished brown colour, dual tone seat, and new interior panels. The scooter will cost you Rs. 46,113 ex-showroom (Delhi).
The feat of the Scooty Zest reaching the Kardung La was achieved by Anam Hashim last year, who rode the Scooty Zest from Jammu to Kardung La, later went on to Chag La to Pangong Tso lake. On the return journey, Anam travelled to some of the highest motorable road in the world like the Taglang La, Lachulung La, the Gata Loops, Baralacha La, also, the plains of Sarchu.
The TVS Scooty Zest is powered by a 109.7cc engine which produces close to 8bhp at 7500rpm and torque of 8.7Nm at 5500rpm which is mated to a CVTI automatic gearbox and the Scooty Zest gives a mileage of 62km/l.
The Kardung La pass is the highest motorable road in the world and everyone would like to visit in one in a lifetime. Even automobile manufacturer and racing teams have attempted to ride on this road. An achievement by a scooter by Anam Hashim is indeed a great achievement and TVS is acknowledging it by launching the limited edition.
