TVS Akula Production Model Will Be Named As TVS Apache RTR 300
The TVS Akula 310 has created quite a buzz when it was showcased as a concept at the Auto Expo Delhi 2016, now TVS has named the sports bike as TVS Apache RTR 300.
The motorcycle is based on the BMW 310R and the specifications of the TVS Akula are power driven with a 313cc liquid cooled single cylinder engine developing 34bhp and 28Nm of torque, this is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and is expected to be launched later this year.
As for the production model of the TVS Akula - named TVS Apache RTR - featured carbon fibre frame, however, this will not come in the production version due to the cost factor. Otherwise, the motorcycle features twin headlamps, upside down front forks, mono shocks for the rear.
The TVS Apache RTR 300 will share some of the components from its Apache family of motorcycles and will be positioned as a top of the line motorcycle from the stables of TVS.
The motorcycle will compete with KTM RC390 and probably the yet to be launched Hero HX250.
BMW G310R is being manufactured by TVS based on the agreement with BMW Motorrad for the global market as well.
From the exterior, the TVS Akula looks muscular with its well-sculpted tank and the upswept tail. The exhaust is external, unlike the midship exhaust which is seen on the KTM RC 390. On the braking front, the bike could feature both front and rear disc brakes with ABS and high-performance tyres from Pirelli.
