TVS Akula 310 Launch Date Confirmed For India — The New Bajaj Pulsar Rival On Its Way!
TVS will launch the fully faired Akula in India during March 2017 and the motorcycle will be priced under Rs 2 lakh.
For all the Akula fans out there — here's good news! The launch date of the much awaited TVS Akula 310 that was showcased during Auto Expo has been revealed.
According to various sources, the TVS Akula will be launched in March 2017. The 310cc fully faired motorcycle will be priced under Rs 2 lakh when launched, and will take on the KTM RC390, R3, and the upcoming Benelli Tornado 300 in India.
The TVS Akula shares its underpinnings with the BMW G310 R that was also showcased during the 2016 Auto Expo. Although both motorcycles are sold under different brand names, they will share the same engine, chassis, swingarm, and much more.
Powering the Akula will be the same 310cc engine that does its duty on the BMW G310 R, a 313cc single-cylinder water-cooled engine that will make 34bhp and 28Nm of peak torque, while mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The gearing could differ from that of the G310 R to help deliver better performance.
Other features will include disc brakes at both ends, monoshock at the rear, soft compound 17-inch tyres, and dual channel ABS.
We had already spotted the TVS Akula 310 being tested on the roads near Hosur, where TVS has its factory. The same facility will build the TVS Akula, along with the BMW G310 R.
