Locally Assembled Suzuki Hayabusa Available For Rs. 13.57 Lakh
Suzuki Motorcycles India confirms that they have commenced local assembly of the Hayabusa. The superbike is now priced attractively at Rs. 13.57 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). Customers can start booking the locally assembled Hayabusa at Suzuki dealerships from March 2016 itself.
Previously, the Hayabusa was imported to Indian shores from Japan as a CBU (Completely Built Unit). Now following the Make in India trend, the 2016 Hayabusa will be imported via CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route. The superbike will be assembled at Suzuki's Gurgaon facility.
The Japanese manufacturer promises that the locally assembled Hayabusa will not be different from the directly imported models. Technical specifications will remain the same and customers will not be able to distinguish either model.
The 2016 Hayabusa by Suzuki competes with Kawasaki's ZX-14R model in international as well as in the Indian market. Customers will now face a tough task choosing between the ZX-14R, which costs Rs. 17.90 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). The ZX-14R now costs approximately Rs. 6.5 lakhs more than the Hayabusa.
Based on the response Suzuki gets for the locally assembled Hayabusa, the Japanese manufacturer could introduce use a similar route for other superbikes as well. Stay tuned for more updates from Suzuki as well as other superbike manufacturers in India.
