Suzuki GSX-S1000 & GSX-S1000F Recall Announced
Suzuki Motorcycle has issued a recall for the GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F models. Approximately 600 models will be recalled for a faulty seal in the front brake piston cylinder. The faulty part can result in an accident.
Unfortunately, only models sold in the United States are affected by the recall. No Indian model of the Suzuki GSX-S1000 and Suzuki GSX-S1000F are affected by the brake cylinder issue. The litre class models were introduced in the country only recently.
The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer confirms that the models in question were built between two batches. Suzuki engineers manufactured the defective GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F during July 21 to July 27, 2015, and July 10 to August 24, 2015.
Both, GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F motorcycles are powered by a common engine. Suzuki has provided a 999cc, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The bikes produce 145bhp along with 106Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
In India, the GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F by Suzuki are priced extremely competitive. Suzuki GSX-S1000 is priced at Rs. 12.25 lakh and GSX-S1000F is priced at Rs. 12.70 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). Both models come equipped with standard Anti-lock Braking System (ABS).
