Suzuki Will Not Launch GSX R250 & V-Strom 250 In India
The all-new GSX R250 and V-Strom 250 models from Suzuki were recently unveiled. However, Suzuki Motorcycles is not confident on introducing either model in the Indian market.
Suzuki Motorcycles recently showcased the GSX R250 and V-Strom 250 models. There was a lot of expectations from the Japanese manufacturer to bring these models to Indian shores. Unfortunately, both models have been confirmed and will not be coming to India anytime soon.
The Japanese manufacturer wants to focus on mass products for the Indian market. Suzuki Motorcycle India has no plans of introducing entry-level superbike and adventure models in the country. Currently, they are selling commuter models and premium motorcycles in India.
Previously, Suzuki Motorcycles India launched the Inazuma 250, which was not well received. The Japanese manufacturer has since then focussed all of its time and efforts into the mass market segment. Now, they want to focus on building volumes prior to launching any premium offering.
Gixxer and Gixxer SF models have provided Suzuki with decent success. They want to focus on delivering improved products within this segment. Both models also bring in huge volumes, which is Suzuki's primary focus in the Indian market.
Currently, KTM, Honda, Yamaha, and Kawasaki have established themselves in the entry-level sportbike category. Their products are well priced and provide adequate performance as well. It does not make sense for Suzuki to enter a segment with high competition.
