Suzuki Gixxer With Rear Disc Brake Launched, Prices Start At Rs. 79,726

Suzuki has launched a new variant of the Gixxer with a rear disc brake. Prices for the new variant of the Gixxer start at Rs. 79,726 ex-showroom (Delhi). The new variant of the Goxxer was first unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi.

Engine & Gearbox

The engine and gearbox options remain the same on the new Gixxer. The 154.9cc single cylinder SOHC engine produces 14.6bhp and 14Nm of torque. The power and torque is sent to the rear wheel through a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The Gixxer returns a claimed mileage of 45km/l thanks to Suzuki's implementation of their in-house SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance) and with a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres it can theoretically keep on going for 540 kilometers before it needs a refill.

Features

The new Gixxer variant adds a new disc brake on the rear wheel of the bike. Other standard features include the usual disc brake up front along with a telescopic front suspension and a monoshock at the rear.

The front tyre is a 100 section unit while the rear is a 140 section unit. Both tyres are fitted on to 17-inch alloy wheels. The Gixxer also features a fully digital instrument console

The rear dic variant is available as an option in the following colors on the Gixxer - Lush Green/Glass Sparkle Black, Metallic Triton Blue/Pearl Mirage White and Candy Sonoma Red/ Glass Sparkle Black.

In the Gixxer SF, the rear disc brake is available as standard on the following colours - Pearl Mirage Red and Glass Sparkle Black and is standard on the only colour the Moto GP edition is available in, Metallic Triton Blue.

Availability & Rivals

The new Gixxer, Gixxer SF and Moto GP edition with the rear disc brake is now available at all Suzuki dealerships across the country. The new bikes will go up against the Honda CB Hornet 160R, the Bajaj Pulsar AS 150, the Hero Xtreme and the Yamaha R15.
