Royal Enfield To Set-Up Research And Development Facility To Work On International Models

will
set-up
two
research
and
development
facility
to
work
on
its
international
motorcycle
models.
According to a report, Royal Enfield will be setting up two technical centres at Leicestershire, UK and Chennai, India. For this Royal Enfield will be investing Rs 600 crore, this funding will also expand manufacturing facilities and marketing activities worldwide. The Leicestershire facility will be operational by early 2017.
Although the Leicestershire base will not see any manufacturing, it will play an important role in the development of international models.
It is said that Leicestershire research and development facility will play an instrumental part in adaption and development of Royal Enfield's forthcoming 600cc to 650cc twin-cylinder motorcycle.
The new motorcycle will be targeted to the US and European markets. There are no details available about this new offering from Royal Enfield, but reports state that it will be a cruiser, which will go head on with the likes of Harley Davidsons and Triumphs.
