Meet The Royal Enfield Himalayan With A KTM 390 Engine
Feeling that his Himalayan is underpowered, one biker has created his version of the India's first adventure tourer.
The owner of this particular Himalayan has opted to swap the LS 410cc engine with a KTM Duke 390 engine.
It's not just the engine that the Himalayan borrows from the Duke 390. The Himalayan's meter console has now been replaced by the Multi-Information Display from the KTM.
The workmanship carried out on the motorcycle looks immaculate and clever. The owner has even replaced the shifter rod, turn indicators, centre console, engine, coolant reservoir, etc.
The sprocket setup seems to be different from the one found on a Duke 390. The motorcycle is now equipped with a bigger rear sprocket that would compromise the top speed but improve the low-end power delivery.
Although the overall build looks pretty clean, we're still not sure how the Royal Enfield's chassis would handle the KTM's 44bhp. So far, that's all we know about the project.
What do you think about the "Himalayan 390" build? Share your thoughts below.
