Here Is A Different Road Safety Method By Puducherry Traffic Police
With road safety being a priority, helmets are indeed a safe method to keep you safe. Puducherry traffic police have initiated a different approach to encourage wearing helmets.
The traffic police in coordination with the tourism department will select 10 motorists who wear helmets and collect their names and contact numbers. This drive will be from July 27 - 30, 2016.
The winner will be selected through a lucky draw and will win a free trip with their family members by boat from Nonankuppam to Paradise Beach on July 31 at 12 noon.
A novel initiative indeed which will encourage motorist use helmets. There have been fatal accidents on the rise in the tiny territory with as many as 154 people being killed and 1058 people being injured in road accidents in 2015.
There was a rise in numbers in 2015 compared to 2014, 139 fatal accidents and 966 other accidents were reported compared to 2015. Hence, the Puducherry traffic police have initiated the unique method to encourage motorists to use helmets.
