Ola Bike Taxi Service Launched In Bangalore
Ola has launched its Bike Taxi service in Bangalore, for which the taxi aggregator charges Rs. 30/- as minimum fare and Rs. 2/- per kilometer after, as an introductory fare. The Bike Taxis can be booked using the Ola app.
The Bike Taxi by Ola will feature the same ride experience as their cars, that includes driver details, SOS, live tracking, and the ease of paying through Ola Money. The person booking for an Ola Bike Taxi will also be provided a helmet.
Pranay Jivrajka, the Chief Operating Officer of Ola said, "We are excited to launch the pilot of Bike Taxis in Bangalore today. This will help users get to where they want to be within minutes, especially in traffic prone cities like ours."
"With Bike Taxis, we are enabling safe pillion rides for our users with trained two wheeler drivers at competitive fares. We expect significant demand in the pilot phase and we will continue to scale this service up in the coming weeks to cover more areas in the city and serve more users. We believe this will be a major step towards enabling mobility for a billion Indians in the time to come."
If Ola is able to get it right, the Bike Taxi service could become a huge success, since travelling on a chauffeured two-wheeler could save a lot of time to travel from point A to point B, keeping the traffic conditions in mind.
