The Isle Of Man TT is an iconic race circuit as it is one of the very few street circuits for two-wheelers. The very first race to ever be contested around the Isle of Man was back in 1907. The inaugural race was won by Charles R. Collier. Since then, every rider has aimed at winning the prestigious title.
Michael Dunlop has regularly taken part in the Isle of Man TT since 2007. Now, he is the only man to set a lap record within the seventeen minutes barrier. Dunlop set a lap time of sixteen minutes and 58 seconds, he broke the previous record by a minute and fifteen seconds.
Dunlop recorded an average speed of 214.68 km/h, over the 60.72-kilometre circuit. Michael Dunlop set the record as he rode for Hawk Racing onboard a BMW S1000RR. Setting such a quick lap time around a street circuit is scary and you can take a look for yourself in this video.
