Mahindra Racing does not participate in Moto3 Championship directly anymore. The Indian manufacturer provides teams with an entire competitive race machine. At the 2016 Brno GP, Mahindra powered Moto3 bikes achieved an astounding 1st and 2nd place finish.
The Peugeot branded MGP3O took its first win of the season since returning to two-wheeler racing. John McPhee rode bravely for his first Moto3 win in a rain-soaked Brno circuit. Proving once again, that the Mahindra machine has superior stability in all conditions.
John McPhee is the first Scottish rider to win a Moto3 Grand Prix. The last Grand Prix win by a Scotsman came back in 1962 at the hands of Bob McIntyre. McPhee showcased Mahindra's chassis and stability by winning the race with a distance of eight seconds between him and the rider finishing in second.
The Aspar Mahindra Team is the main team that receives support from Mahindra Racing. Jorge Martin rode his Mahindra Moto3 bike exceptionally well for a career-best second place. With this, Mahindra Racing has stood on Moto3 podium for a total of five times, also making it their best season.
Francesco Bagnaia seemed poised to make it an all Mahindra podium. Unfortunately, tyre issue in the treacherous conditions caused him to crash out. It would have been a remarkable moment for Mahindra Racing if they could have stolen all three places on the podium.
