Video: Valentino Rossi & Jorge Lorenzo’s Argument Post 2016 Misano GP
Jorge Lorenzo started the 2016 Misano GP from pole position, while Valentino Rossi began from second place. Lorenzo maintained his lead, while Rossi stole second place from Vinales around first corner. Yamaha riders were clearly faster than the other riders around the Misano circuit.
Valentino Rossi immediately fought for first place within the second lap itself. Movistar Yamaha riders almost collided as Rossi performed a somewhat aggressive block pass on Lorenzo. At the end, Rossi finished second, while Lorenzo managed to secure third and final podium place.
Their battle, however, did not end on track and continued to the post-race conference. Lorenzo told journalists that Rossi's move on him was extremely aggressive in his opinion. The reigning MotoGP Champion believes that Rossi clearly was faster and could have overtaken him anywhere and there was no need for an aggressive overtake.
Rossi, on the other hand, explained to Lorenzo that he too has performed similar overtakes. Overall, it looked as if two small kids kept blaming each other for something that did not need this much attention.
Lorenzo and Rossi have been teammates and biggest rivals from the very beginning. For the 2017 MotoGP Championship, Lorenzo has teamed up with Factory Ducati Team. Valentino Rossi, on the other hand, will continue with Movistar Yamaha for a minimum of two more years.
