Demo Laps To Be Performed By KTM RC16 At 2016 Austrian GP
MotoGP has been on its summer vacation and is soon to resume its competitive nature. The next race is scheduled to be held in Austria on August 14th, 2016. The KTM MotoGP team has now confirmed that they will have their riders perform demo laps.
Austria is KTM's hometown and showcasing their MotoGP ambition here is vital. Fans will get to see the KTM RC16 in action for the very first time around the Austrian circuit. Test riders Mika Kallio and Alex Hoffman will be performing demo rides.
Mika Kallio will be entering the final round of the 2016 MotoGP Championship as a wildcard. Kallio will ride the KTM RC16 at the Valencia GP, prior to handing the bike and development, off to the factory riders. The KTM MotoGP team has confirmed Pol Espargaro and Bradley Smith as their riders.
Stefan Pierer, KTM Group CEO will be present at the Grand Prix. A press conference will be held to discuss the progress of KTM's MotoGP dream. None of the MotoGP riders will be present at the conference due to legal obligations.
MotoGP teams conducted a test at the Red Bull Ring circuit in Austria. KTM MotoGP team has also been constantly testing their racing package. The Austrian-based team was approximately within two seconds of the fastest lap time.
