KTM MotoGP team has acquired the expertise of Bradley Smith for the upcoming season. The Austrian-based two-wheeler manufacturer will be entering the MotoGP Championship in 2017. Currently, KTM is testing their prototype machine extensively.
Bradley Smith currently rides for the Monster Tech 3 Yamaha team. The British-born racers contract will be expiring at the end of the 2016 Championship. Unfortunately, Yamaha has decided not to extend his contract, owing to unsuccessful outcome in the past.
Smith has signed a two-year contract with KTM Racing. At the moment, he is the only official rider for KTM in competition. Recently, KTM had signed Mika Kallio and Randy de Puniet as their test riders, it is most likely that either one of them will be offered a ride soon.
The Factory KTM Team has tested their prototype machine called RC16. All test riders who have ridden the KTM RC16 have praised the bikes performance and agility. The Austrian team is expected to run a few wild card races during the 2016 season to test their progress.
The 2017 MotoGP Championship will witness a huge number of manufacturer's on the grid. Aprilia, Ducati, Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, and KTM will be part of the MotoGP 2017 season. Competition is expected to be intense and fierce among riders and teams next year.
