KTM Racing will be participating in the final round of 2016 MotoGP Championship as a wildcard entrant. The Austrian-based two-wheeler manufacturer has conducted multiple tests with various riders. Now, their RC16 project will compete on track at the 2016 Valencia GP.
Piloting the KTM RC16 will be Mika Kallio, main test rider for the Austrian-based team. So far, KTM Racing seems ready for the 2016 Valencia GP. The rider and team are confident that they could score points if nothing goes wrong, this would be a phenomenal feat if achieved.
After the 2016 Valencia GP, Mika Kallio will hand off the KTM RC16 to the factory riders. Bradley Smith and Pol Espargaro will lead the KTM team for 2017 MotoGP Championship. Mika Kallio will continue as their development rider and could take part as a wildcard entrant as well.
2017 MotoGP Championship will have six official manufacturers in the paddock. They are Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Ducati, Aprilia, and KTM. New entrants in the MotoGP paddock are KTM and from their development data, it seems like they have a winning package on hand.
Previously, KTM Racing showcased and unveiled their RC16 project at their home circuit in Spielberg, Austria. Alex Hoffman and Mika Kallio performed demo laps for KTM fans and enthusiasts at the Red Bull Ring circuit. Stay tuned for more updates and information on KTM's MotoGP project.
