KTM has been rumoured to be launching an all-new entry-level adventure motorcycle. Now, reports suggest that all-new KTM 390 Adventure will be available sometime during 2019. So far, the Austrian-based two-wheeler manufacturer has been discreet about its 390 Adventure.
No other details have been revealed at the ongoing 2016 Intermot. KTM officials have confirmed that more details on 390 Adventure will be revealed at 2016 EICMA Motor Show in Milan. New KTM 390 Duke will also be showcased at the upcoming EICMA Show on November 19th.
Previously, KTM engineers and technicians used 390 Duke as their base for its Adventure bike. Unfortunately, adding longer suspension to regular 390 Duke was not the answer. KTM have decided to improve ground clearance and Adventure bike feel the chassis needs to be tweaked.
This means that the KTM 390 Adventure will be completely different in comparison to its siblings. KTM RC and Duke range are differentiated with a change to the steering geometry. However, the KTM 390 Adventure will require several tweaks to make it a proper adventure motorcycle.
In terms of engine, KTM is most likely to utilise the 390 Duke power unit. Engineers will re-tune this engine to suit Adventure motorcycle persona. Also expect riding modes for an improved overall experience on all surface conditions.
