Kawasaki showcased a host of new models at the 2016 INTERMOT event. The Japanese-based manufacturer promised more information about new models at the upcoming 2016 EICMA Motor Show. New models are expected to replace previously selling models.
Now, Kawasaki plans to introduce the Z900 and Z650 naked streetfighter machines. Both models will replace the Z800 and Er-6N motorcycles worldwide. Kawasaki realizes that its Z800 and Er-6N models have been on sale for awhile and customers would appreciate updated versions.
2017 Kawasaki Z650 receives an all-new steel trellis frame. Unfortunately, the engine and performance have not been altered with. Engineers have managed to make 2017 Z650's engine Euro4 compliant. Kawasaki will also provide ABS as standard equipment on this motorcycle.
Z900 is a huge update over the Z800 from Kawasaki stables. An all-new frame and engine have been adopted. The engine has been borrowed from Kawasaki's Z1000 motorcycle. Engineers have managed to reduce the weight and thus have made it agile.
Both models are likely to be introduced in the Indian market as well. Kawasaki could introduce the Z900 and Z650 in a phased manner. We expect that both models could be available in India sometime during mid-2017, however, do expect an increase in pricing as well over its predecessor.
