After years of idling, Kawasaki is now offering two new race-ready, off-road motorcycles in India; the KX100, and the KX250F.
The KX100 and KX250F are two of the most successful off-roaders in their respective classes. But the shocking part is that the motorcycles are priced at INR 4.68 lakh and INR 7.14 lakh respectively (ex-showroom).
Overpriced? Maybe not! These bikes aren't road legal; they don't have to be registered. So, the price mentioned as ex-showroom is what you will pay for them. You'll just have to add or subtract a little bit for shipping and handling.
There is registration fees or other taxes on these motorcycles. The KZ250F costs 26.5 percent more than its price in the US. The KX100 is priced 50 percent more expensive compared to the US market.
The KX100 is relatively larger in dimensions than Kawasaki's mini-bikes and is almost a full-size dirt bike. The motorcycle is powered by a 99cc, two-stroke, liquid cooled engine. The bike also comes with Kawasaki's power valve system (KIPS), that varies the exhaust port open time and ignition for better performance.
The KX100 comes fitted with a 36mm adjustable inverted fork in front, giving a 275mm suspension travel, while the rear suspension is a Uni-Trak mono-shock with preload adjuster offering 275mm of travel.
The motorcycle weighs just 77kg, which makes it perfect for the young riders.
The KX250F has always been known as the most successful motorcycle in its segment. The motorcycle uses a 249cc, liquid-cooled engine with dual injectors to deliver excellent of mid-range performance.
It also features a first-in-class launch control that'll help you keep the front wheel down during that perfect launch.
The KX250F is constructed in an aluminium perimeter frame. Up front is Showa's SFF fork that comes standard on the Kawasaki Versys 650. At the rear is Showa mono-shock featuring Kawasaki's Uni-Trak linkage system.
