In addition to the sport tourer V-Strom 650, Suzuki also revealed the new V-Strom 1000 at the 2016 Intermot Show.
The renewed globetrotter differs from the previous model with the revised engine (now Euro 4) and with sharp design cues in the front part. A new higher windscreen and some electronic improvements have also been made to the new motorcycle.
The new V-Strom 1000 is equipped with the same engine as the previous model, a 1,037cc V-twin, with dual overhead cam and liquid cooling. But it comes with new engine map and new exhaust components that make it comply with the new Euro 4 emission standards.
The V-Strom 1000 produces a staggering 100.6bhp, while the maximum torque is slightly decreased to 101Nm.
The chassis retains the twin-spar aluminum frame, KYB inverted front forks and monoshock KYB suspension at the rear, both fully adjustable. ABS will be offered as standard feature from Bosch.
Regarding the design, the new Suzuki V-Strom 1000 looks identical to its previous model. The instrument panel also remains unchanged, consisting of analogue tachometer and two LCD screens.
The V-Strom 1000 comes with numerous accessories such as, panniers, higher seats, center stand, protective caskets, spotlights, and LED lights.
The new Suzuki V-Strom 1000 will be available in 3 new colour schemes – yellow, gray and white. The XT version of the motorcycle is also available with spoked wheels. However Suzuki has not yet announced when this new model will arrive on the market and its price.
