Iconic American motorcycle manufacturer Indian, has launched the 2016 Scout Sixty cruiser in India's IT capital, Bangalore. The Indian Scout Sixty is priced at Rs. 12.21 lakh ex-showroom (Bangalore).
The Scout Sixty is the entry-level motorcycle in the Indian Motorcycle range in India. The Scout Sixty gets its name from its 60 cubic-inch (999cc) engine.
Powering the Scout Sixty is a 999cc, liquid-cooled, fuel injected V-Twin engine that produces 77bhp and 88.8Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox and draws sustenance from a 12.5-litre fuel tank.
The Scout Sixty features telescopic forks up front along with dual shock absorbers at the rear to help it deal with the rough stuff. The Scout Sixty's alloy wheels are shod with 130/90-16 72H tyre up front and a 150/80-16 71H tyre at the rear.
The Indian Scout Sixty brings itself to a stop with the help of 298mm disc brakes at both ends. The front disc brake features a two-piston caliper while the rear disc makes do with a single-piston brake caliper.
With regards to design, the Scout Sixty is a blend of both modern and heritage designs. Standout features include the blacked out engine and wheels, and the chrome exhausts. The Scout Sixty is available in three colour options: Thunder Black, Indian Motorcycle Red, and Pearl White.
Indian will offer numerous customization options with the Scout Sixty including different seats, handlebars, and foot peg re-locators. Additional accessories such as saddlebags, laced front and rear wheels, and quick-release windscreens will help owners tailor their Scout Sixty according to their own tastes.
