Indian Springfield Cruiser Launching In India By September
Indian Motorcycle is planning on increasing its product portfolio in the Indian market. Now the American-based cruiser bike manufacturer is most likely to launch the Springfield in India as well. The Indian Springfield will be launching in the country sometime during September 2016.
Springfield cruiser will be introduced in the Indian market for an approximate price of Rs. 30.60 lakh ex-showroom. Indian Motorcycle will offer the Springfield as a CBU (Completely Built Unit), which attracts the premium cost structure in the country.
Powering the Springfield is a 1,811cc V-Twin, air-cooled engine. Indian Motorcycle engineers will mate the engine to a 6-speed gearbox and will extract 138.90Nm of torque. The Indian Springfield will weigh an astonishing 388 kilograms, which could be intimidating for a few.
The Indian Springfield will be equipped with several advanced motorcycle technologies. Features like tyre-pressure monitoring system, remote locking, dual riding lights, cruise control, and ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) will be standard equipment on the Springfield.
Once launched, the Indian Springfield will be available in only two colour options. The cruiser bike will adorn either Thunder Black or Indian Motorcycle Red depending on customer choice. As of now, Indian Motorcycle does not have any plans on local assembly of their premium cruisers.
