Production Ready Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 Spied
Swedish motorcycle manufacturer Husqvarna unveiled the Vitpilen 701 naked road bike concept at the 2015 EICMA show in Milan.
Now, a near production ready version of the Vitpilen 701 has been spied testing ahead of an expected debut later this year.
The Vitpilen 701 is based on KTM's 690 Duke and it uses the same frame, engine, suspension, wheels, and brakes from the KTM. The 690 Duke's power output of 73bhp from the 690cc engine is unlikely to change either.
Where the upcoming Husqvarna differs from the KTM is in terms of styling. It features a round headlamp along with a slim looking tank. The seat and the tail of the bike are brand new compared to the KTM.
The handlebars of the Vitpilen 701 have been lowered which ensures the rider adopts a posture more associated with a cafe-racer, as can be seen in the spy pic.
A more Scrambler style bike with knobby tyres bearing the Svartpilen 701 name is expected to appear in the near future.
