Honda TMX 125 Could Launch In India As An Affordable Model
Honda
Motorcycle
and
Scooter
India
could
launch
an
all-new
125cc
motorcycle
in
the
country.
The
new
model
could
be
introduced
targeting
the
rural
market
in
India.
Currently,
Hero
MotoCorp.
dominates
this
segment
and
Honda
would
like
to
take
a
bite
out
of
it.
Recently, Honda imported a couple units of their TMX 125 motorcycle to India for R&D purpose. The TMX 125 model is available in a selected few markets and could be introduced in India as a bare minimum motorcycle for the masses.
Once
introduced
in
the
Indian
market
the
TMX
125
will
be
Honda's
most
affordable
125cc
motorcycle
in
the
country.
We
expect
Honda
to
price
its
TMX
125
between
Rs.
30,000
to
Rs.
35,000
if
launched
in
the
Indian
market.
Powering the Honda TMX 125 is a 124cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox, which is uncommon in the entry-level commuter segment. In terms of power, Honda will make sure that the engine output will be on par with competitors.
At this moment, Honda already offers the CB Shine in the 125cc segment. The main rival for Honda's TMX 125 would be Bajaj's all-new CT100 model, which sells high volumes in the rural market. Stay tuned for updates and information by Honda on its upcoming models.
