Honda recently unveiled the production version of their CBR250RR sportbike. Since its reveal, every enthusiast is expecting that Honda would launch the sportbike in their country. In a chat with Yadvinder Guleria, Senior VP, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, several details were cleared out.
The CBR250RR is at this moment exclusively for the Indonesian market. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has no plans on bringing the CBR250RR in the country anytime soon. The Japanese-based two-wheeler manufacturer will focus on revamping its current line-up in India.
The current Honda line-up will receive an update in the form of safety and emission norms. The entire range will be updated with the Auto Headlight On (AHO) feature. Engineers will be making sure that all their engines in due course of time will adhere to Euro4 emission norms set in India.
Internationally, the CBR 250R was updated with an all-new engine and bodywork. The CBR 300R, which replaced the Honda CBR 250R in most markets will also be not coming to India. We could expect another round of colour and decal updates to the current Honda CBR 250R soon.
Unfortunately, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has no plans of bringing the CBR 500R, CB 500F, and the CB 500X models. The Metropolitan scooter will also be not coming to Indian shores anytime soon. It seems like it is going to be a sad year for Honda enthusiasts in the Indian market.
