Honda Motorcycles has confirmed the launch of two new motorcycles. The 2017-edition of Honda's CRF450R and CRF450RX models have been showcased prior to their launch. Both motorcycles were unveiled at a special event in the Netherlands.
Both, the CRF450R and the CRF450RX will be completely revamped with new equipment. Even the styling on either motorcycle will be updated with a modern appeal. The engine has been updated for improved performance as well.
The engine has been developed by Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) for better top-end and torque across the rev range. Engineers claim that they have improved the engine by almost eleven percent. Both models get an all-new frame, which improves traction and handling.
The official launch of Honda's CRF450R and CRF450RX will be done by MX2 World Champion, Tim Gajser. An event will be organised between August 26 - 28, at the Assen MX GP. Soon after that, the bike will be available for booking and deliveries will begin by 2016-end.
Unfortunately, neither the CRF450R and CRF450RX will be launched by Honda in the Indian market. Both models are hugely successful in the European market. The scrambler/ dirt bike market is negligible in the country as of today.
DriveSpark Thinks! It's high time Honda considers this segment. Let's not forget, Indians are now racing at the Dakar Rally, and the 2017 race will feature CS Santosh (Hero MotoCorp Racing) and Arvind KP (TVS Racing). Stay tuned!
